Late nights and early working on design, researching, cooking, and whoring myself out online. For complicating our weekends. For being way too hyped on one project after another. For dealing with my ridiculous self-doubt and frustration. For dealing with all this clutter. For letting me dump everything into this, and backing me every step of the way. For being the rock. For being a total badass. For truly being The Queen of our Castle.

Today I’m feeling accomplished and I owe it all to her. They say behind every King is a Queen, but sometimes they’re out front leading the way.

Sometimes even Castle Road isn’t safe. Early Sunday morning, shortly after returning from filming for the Grub Budz Friendsgiving Special, I awoke to the dogs alerting, followed suit and found an intruder in our home. I was able to detain him until the police arrived. We are fine. No one was hurt. More info on this later, but please know these recipes are not guarded lightly. This is what’s at the top of the stairs waiting for you. Enter at your own risk.

What a culinary adventure we had this week! We cured our own pastrami for Reuben egg rolls, smoked a Picanha for steak and cheese egg rolls, smoked a brisket and some pork belly pecan rolls, got a chance to sit down and chat with the guys at Grub Budz, and cooked a turducken! Food was well received and we had a blast doing it. I have to say the egg rolls were my favorite. I could eat that everyday. Watch out for the Grub Budz Friendsgiving special when it comes out. LET’S GOOOO!!!

Pastrami is done smoking, now steaming in the oven. Brisket is on. Had a great chat with Mike and Dave over at Grub Budz last night while filming for their Friendsgiving Turducken episode. We had a chance to talk about some of our upcoming products and did some taste testing on one of our new rubs, a hot honey pizza topper. Today is going to be something else. Time for a quick nap.
